Hi could you guys ID this fledgling for me I'm thinking pied ruddie or zeb leaning towards ruddie at the moment .
Found him on the aviary floor today just on dark.

Bengalese ( Society Finch) could be Zeb pied.... Need to see tail....cute.....

Ruddie/Fire chicks have red on tail.

Thanks guys,stuck him back in the aviary first thing This morning and he was reclaimed by a pair of Zebs strait up.
The thing that was throwing me was,he's beck already has a reddish colour to it and he's very similar in colour to my
pied ruddie hen that sitting at the moment.

Ruddy fledglings have a black bill, dark blue & white gape fluorescence, red on top of the tail & white down if they have any still showing.

Ruddy young are lot thinner looking


Zebs are born tanks

AS mentioned also the red near the tail is usually present

Thanks again guys, Ive had a bit of a population explosion today. Now there is atleast 7 zeb fledglings getting around the aviary today with 2 lots of parents arguing over who owns who.
It looks like things have settled down this arvo. Just hope they all keep getting fed. I checked the goulians nest box today when they were both out having a feed and there is also 4 healthy looking young
in there. Looks like Ill have to organise a holding cage this week
