Hi all ,
Wondering if anyone mixes Crimsons with Green Singers in their aviaries ?
I have noticed the 2 species have quite a disliking for each other !
Only territorial quarreling and posturing , no bodily harm is ever done ....
Just intriguing as they are from completely different continent's and are separate genus / species all together !
These 2 are the only ones that have any sort of friction in my colony .
Also, Im just curious to know if perhaps my juveniles have inherited a dislike for crims from the parent pair or if this is a recurring theme throughout with the species .... I had to put one of my Crimson males in the holding cage with a juvie GS today and they immediately didn't get along .... I find it strange as they aren't exactly competition for one another .
Cheers in advance ,
Brad

Hi Brad, there are some finches that just don't get on together.I have had the same experience with these birds and others,eg cubans and blueface, singers and gouldians.Others have had no problems but it all depends on the size of your aviary and over stocking etc.Bmac27 wrote:Hi all ,

IMO,birds see other birds colours in a different perspective to us and take them as a threat so it all boils down to what you want to keep together and yes it is trial and error to find out what who tolerates who and which finch you prefer to keep. Craig
