Wild Red Rumps

I took this photo today at a friends place,he gets at least 6 pairs of Red Rumps that breed
in boxes he has under his verandah and carport.The pair on the box are about 5 metres
away from me.They just carried on as if we were not there.Most years they have 2 clutches
with 1 pair last year with 3 clutches.He does NOT feed these birds mainly because it attracts
sparrows.If you look closley you can see a pair on the right in the lattice work.

That's cool . When I was in wagga many many moons ago I was rapt to see wild ones. If only I could get the local elegants and western rosellas to do the same... pete

Centre top fella may or may not be an Opaline boy which I accidently let out a few years ago or his offspring .... happy if its him still alive and well :thumbup: not happy if its his off spring :thumbdown:

Lovely to see both "wild" bird pics. Though the first are less wild and more free. Which is to say making the best of both worlds.

Just an update on the Red Rumps at my mates place,5 pair have young and 1 pair with eggs.
In one of the boxes a pair of Eastern Rosellas are rearing 7 young,be interesting to see if all fledge.
