four weeks back i had two young fawn diamonds out for the very first time. two weeks back 4 young out flying about. today heard two lots of young squarking in the same fawn aviary - both different nests and in the main aviary the first one out today was a fawn hen/pied. plus several pairs on eggs or better.
so if you have wondered what they are like to breed - quick answer they truly breed like zebras...............providing you have a genuine pair.

They really are great little breeders aren't they wildbill !
My Normal Diamonds have been the best producers of chicks over autumn/winter averaging 4s and a 5 .
Provided they have plenty of greens they will breed like flies !!

If only I wasn't such a tight ass and paid for DNA or surg sexed birds from sales I might be so lucky also.
I am told I was sold a pair by an extremely reputable breeder but still not sure what I have in the aviary. . .I have seen courting and eggs at some stage though I am not sure if these were the diamonds or the goulds that eventually took over their nest.
Glad you are doing well with them.
I am planning to get a small colony when the new aviary is done in October
