Looking for some help. from what I read about in the ruddy file at the start of this section the hen ruddy doesnt have a yellow eye ring. Does anyone want to have a guess at what this bird is, hen or cock. It was sold as a hen but has started to get more red on it. Thought it should have totally coloured up by now though. It doesnt have any spots like most hen pictures i have found. All the two that are in the cage do is chase each other around.
any help with this would be great
Cheers in advance

Yes Its a Cock Bird
Both sexes have yellow eye rings
One of my hens has as much red on It as your cock but still has white spots on the front and lays eggs and raise chicks.
Will try get pic up

If you have a close look at a female Ruddie you will see tiny white dots at the side of the chest area.
Once they are in full colour they are easy anyway.
A bird(as pictured) with even less red showing should be regarded as a young cockbird.
