I used to go to these.
Burwood pets
Aust bird breeding company springvale rd.
living jungle Dandenong
nunawadingbirds springvale rd

I have not been to them for many years.I would not know what they are like these days.
There is also one beside the Vic market. east side i think of the market car park.Up market pets ? Is worth a look if your there.Even just for the fish and reptiles under the shop down stairs.

No offence to our Victorian friends but when I've been to Melbourne the bird shops/dealers seemed to be a bit ordinary. Happy to be proven wrong...

From what I have heard about N.S.W is alot better then the ones I have been to in S.A and Vic. Like Gary said some AFF members would be defiantly worth a look. Sorry I am to far away for you. Halls Gap was the closest you were to here.

John has his aviaries at Whittlesea apparently but sells from his backyard in Epping. Has a couple of sheds in town with holding/display cages with the birds for sale.

As for Burwood Pets I believe it is now just your average Pet shop. Jock Hobbs who was into birds sold it several years ago and even then the birds he for sale had gone backwards over the years.

Nunawading is still operating. Unfortunately there hasn't been any dealers worth visiting in Melbourne for close to twenty years. Sydney seems to have a better range of dealers than Melbourne or Adelaide combined. Sadly the "Good Olde days" are long gone.
