Okay over the years one of the most troublesome birds in my case is Cutthroats...always have hens that are eggbound...I feed eggshells, cuttlefish, greens, shellgrit (pulverised) even liquid calcium in their water once a week when breeding.... but they always have trouble....is it because of our low genitic pool? or am I doing something wrong....this has been the case for me for over 30 odd years...put them in hospital cage for a day or two and they come good..

I have found using the white calcium and pink mineral blocks from the grain store with the good oil omega 3-6 in the bird seed will solve the problem as l had the same problem with a few of my finches but since l have used these things no more egg bound birds.
