Pecked to Death

Found this bloke henpecked to death near the aviary this morning, The Guinea Fowl earn their keep again. :thumbup: :thumbup:

From the look of that snake its seems they dont stop even after the intruder is dead!

Guinea Fowl = Worth their weight in seed!

Maybe I should get some Guinea Fowl to run round the outside of my avairy, as the area is completely fenced.

I believe so, the better half and a local aboriginal mate recon it's a Fierce snake (Inland Taipan) ?

Hi Buzz,
The only way to be sure is to do a scale count.
The two links below have details of the number and type of scales, although if you are like me you would not have it laying around for to long.
It does look a lot more like some of the photos of a Fierce snake than an Eastern Brown, if this is the case you had better look after those Guinea fowl very well.

They have been said to keep snakes away.I didn't relies they killed them aswell. Shame it didnt keep away in the first place.Hopefully the guinea fowl do just as good on the mice.

Buzz and PG,

Had a bit of a look before my original post and agree that it does look very similar to a Fierce Snake but went with the brown because the documented range of the Fierce Snake is the semi arid areas in Central Australia. If it is a Fierce Snake it certainly is a long way out of it's recognized range if it is near Narrabri and that is a concern, especially for Buzz.
