Hi all!
It's been a while since I did anything but lurk on the forum... decided it's time to get back into it :D
Yesterday, I found three of these little guys crashing around the aviary - I'm mightily chuffed, as the parents threw the last two clutches of chicks long before they reached pin feather stage. Very strong fliers already, and they seem to enjoy following the Diamonds around... hopefully the Diamonds will take the hint, and decide they want chicks of their own ;-)

The remaining Gouldian chick from earlier this year has coloured up stunningly, I'll be keeping her for the next season ^_^

I know I'm not very observant but is it a tri-coloured?

Thanks B-O-A-F! :D It does look a little half-baked, but there's no worries with the cold at the moment..... :hothead:
Thanks Sam ^_^
Sorry tom, I should have specified - it's a RFPF :)

The Yellow Beak Black Headed Hen is show material, not that I believe in benching birds but,
this hen would have all her opposition licked by a country mile and a half, well done.

With my limited experience with parrot finches (more BFPF than RFPF) they do tend to jump early and some look even more underdone than the one pictured by Jayburd :o
Couple of my early fledgers for comparison. August 2011

As you can see the one on the left hasnt even got the green head feathers through.

Very nice Gouldian hen
