Well I can finally say that my siskins have built a nest and have got 3 eggs so far I got the hen from a good breeder at the wollongong finch club so I am hoping that the eggs will hatch and the parents will raise the young.
Apart from meal worms and daily greens Is there anything else that I can do to give them a better chance?
siskins finally on some eggs

I'd be surprised if they bother with the mealworms at all. Greens in as wide variety as possible. When young hatch I'd give fresh greens twice/day if possible. Thistle heads, brocolli, leb cucumber, green grass seed heads, chickweed, dandelion & any broadleaf veges available. If you can possibly find milkthistle heads with green aphids on them this would be number 1 choice red siskin rearing food IMO. Good luck.
