Siskins now have chicks *UPDATE*

Cam back from Melbourne with my new set of Goulds and was pretty happy to find what looks like two young in the nest (could be three).

Been upping the greens and keeping my distance as I have heard I am entering the next most vulnerable stage of chick rearing and I dont want to give them an excuse to toss the young.

They have almost doubled in size since Sunday.

Wish me luck

Steve

Update:

Two chicks still in the nest after 7 days....another 7 days and I may be in the safe zone.

The hen has stopped sitting during the day though I am not sure about the evening...probably a good thing in this heat. Not sure how she goes at night but it is tipped to cool down here significantly so that is a worry.

The birds are at pin feather stage and it seems and if they double in size every 2 days.

Keeping the greens up and they seem to be ok.

Wish me luck!
