Hi all,
I`ve been having a fair heap of Zebra Finches coming in for a drink and a feed recently. This hen showed up the other day and i thought i post it for the Zebra finch fans.

Looks like a dreaded mutation . .

As such it should be removed from the wild forthwith . .

Would be a Red Breasted Grey Hen.

I am quite perplexed by your reply. If this bird has mutated naturally why do make this comment? Are mutations truly dreaded? Just look at some of our parrots that have mutated colour wise through natural forces well before the white man landed on our shores. What about the colour mutations in the Goshawks for example?

Just asking why?

Or do you mean " removed from the wild forthwith' and somehow be placed in captivity and preserve this mutation? I must admit, although not being a Zeb fancier she certainly looks special. Or was it a tongue in cheek comment?

I'm 99.99% sure that Arthur's tongue was firmly lodged in his cheek!
There's so much concern about captive mutations escaping and ruining wild stock, yet here's a wild mutation.

In hindsight you are no doubt right. Perhaps I jumped the gun. Arthur, please accept my apologies for any perceived aspersions, still a nice bird though!

Must go with the feathered friends. As I periodically suffer from the same problem.
