Red Bellied Star?

Hi,
I think I have seen these birds discussed before. I have had a friend hold onto his Stars for me for some time now and I picked them up from him just yesterday.
I have 2 young pairs of Stars that display a red suffusion on the belly under the breast and under the tail of the Cocks. And I have two young pairs where the cock has some red feathers that are creeping below the normal mask line under the chin. These are both long term projects but I am glad to have them now.
The bird pictured is the father of the strain and is 4 years old and the colour has never moulted out. Time will tell while they are under my care. I hope to pair them up for the spring season later in the year.
Let me know what you think (pictures are a bit poor).
Kind Regards
Paul
