Under $500 pr, quiet and colourful. Not on advanced licence in VIC. Not on my exclusion list on the first page…

Add to that: reasonably easy to obtain in VIC as I don’t want to freight. Can mix with others or by themselves as a breeding pair as I can set them up either way, prefer seed eaters.
Sorry, didn't see the price bit amonst all the one-liners.
I'm due fora new pair of spec's soon anyway

I reckon westerns could work but they would eat your plants (do you have planted aviaries?) and they would need a bit of room depending on what you wanted to mix them with.

Maybe they have been mentioned. Sorry if they have :?

Kakarikis are fun. Superbs are also a neat medium-sized parrot.

I have seen some nice blue westerns.

they are a smaller Rosella and quite nice in the normal form.

Looks like we have a winner!

I am glad you posted this as I was close to doing the same...though I have no where near as many exclusions as you had.

Dont quote me but I was offered to buy a pair at young for $200 - $300 but at the time I wasnt interested.

Cant recall if they were normal or mutation but I did note the smaller size compared to easterns.

Not many are breeding/keeping them and they seem to tick all your other boxes

Saw a split blue Western on pet link for $400. I just contacted a guy about a pair of normal Westerns and he said I could have a young unrelated pair for $120. :D

That's a good price,i have keep them and are no where as aggressive as other rosella's and imo the red backed variety is a nicer of the two. Craig

That's good breeding but red capped parrots can be one of the most aggressive parrots around. Craig
