Some rabid 'finch-only' people regard 'parrot' people as pariahs for whatever reason

The 'parrot' topic has been correctly placed in the "Other Bird Species" . . like it or not they are 'other birds' . . section of the forum and is clearly labelled so that those wishing to avoid contamination can skip it

I can't really answer this part of your question, apart from hazarding the guess that the topic runs to a bi-annual cycle
