barnyard grass wildbill

.
best fed half/fully ripe as my birds seem to ignore it if its too green.the heads turn brown/red as it ripens and the seed readily falls off the head when its ready.
as gomer said it is a main ingredient in "greens n grains" mixes and the finches love it.
also known as water grass as it grows best with a good soak or even wet feet so its hard to come by this season....
