My Gouldians have been fluffed up and have had their heads buried for the past few days They get fresh water, seed daily. I have given them some millet spray & spinach over the past week. Should I get some of this SPARK plug stuff ??? I know I can order it online, but I need something in a hurry. Where could I get some in Melbourne ??? Cheers

Have you had wet weather? or are they continously beak wiping or coughing/sneezing? tail pumping?

its an electrolyte....so eno or gatorade will do same thing if you have that in the house...also there is a post on here for making your own

If you had wet weather and your floors are wet/damp plus the fact that you birds are "beak wiping" I would suggest it is time for treatment for Coccidiosis and Air Sac Mites. 3mls/litre of Baycox ,for Coccidiosis, and 5mls/litre of Moxidectin Plus for ASM. I mix them together in one solution and havent had any problems, even with young in the nest. They also control some of the other parasites that can effect your birds health. Remove all water sources the night prior to dosage and give the solution as per normal water in the morning. 24 to 36hrs is my dosage time and then repeat 10 days later. Try to do it on dry days as the birds will go for clean water running down the wire etc over the medicated water if given the choice. No greens either on dosage days. Repeat 3 or 4 times per year and you should be okay. In the event that you have extended wet periods and your floor is wet/damp use the Baycox only as required because these conditions promote parasite (worms etc) infestation.
