Hi all,
The time has come for an aviary build and 'surfing' the internet has brought me here.
I have two children who quite some time ago asked if we could have an aviary.
I made the excuse at the time that we would do it when finance better allowed.
Originally they thought they wanted parrots of some kind but after visiting a couple of bird sales previous years they decided finches would indeed be better.
The finance part is not going to change so when I was reminded again a few weeks ago I agreed I would do it this winter.
I had birds as a young teen, parrots and finches and vowed that I would one day return to finch keeping on a larger scale.
Minus the 'large scale' (that may never happen), I am in planning for a build to start asap.
I have a pre determined slab to work with and far to many ideas.
Lucky day today, got an offer to good to turn down, 3 normal Gouldian pairs of 3 head colours. Unfortunately they have been living together for some time in a small cage so this weekend will organize them some more space and they can have winter inside while I smash out this aviary.
I guess I will be starting a new topic soon, putting my ideas out there for an aviary build for you all here to scrutinise.
And then I guess build progress when the tools come out.
