breeding cages

hi, i am getting new finches but my new cages is not finished yet. I am wondering if i can start putting my canaries in the breeding cabinets but leave out the nest? And what will be the disatvantages be in doing so?

Don't see a problem with this if the breeding cages are in a well protected location.
