Hi, my grass finches have a nest with 6 eggs. Everytime i look into the cage it is the male on the nest. Is that normal for them to do that. I only found out yesterday that they have a nest. I know it is best to stay out of the cage as long as posible but as far as nest inspection goes wat is eceptable?

The more inspections the more chance of desertion IMO...I dont check my nests unless both parents are not going in....sure I loose some young but thats finch breeding....I can hear when young are fed so no need to check.... That's just my opinion, others may disagree...
