How to do without traumatising?

What is the best way to file down baby parrots and lorikeets nails without traumatising them. I don't like clippers, as it never fails, I get one or two - too short!
My babies like crawling and snuggling on my chest. I have had to purchase Savlon to treat the scratches. Hope someone can advise. Regards.

Maybe you answered your own question, file the points off them with a nail file or emery board. Craig

Thanks, Craig52, doesn't matter which kind of file? Should I have someone else hold them? While I file away? Regards

Wouldn't hurt to have some hold them,at least you would be away from the bitey end
