This is my very first photo taken of a beautiful firetail. I have been driving past this location about 3 times a week for seven years. I heard they were there a while ago and recently went there for a look. A friend and myself went on three occasions over about a week. The first time we sighted them and didn't get photos. The next two times we were able to get over 500 photos between us.The last day was the best with good light and blue sky at times in the shots. We were able to sight them within 10 mins on the second and third time and was finished up within the hour.

Sounds like breeding some in your new aviaries should be a real possibility.
You must have nearly photographed the lot, what finch species remain?

They were on my wish list. After seeing them in the wild they are beautiful !!!!

Still a few to do Sam.Need to do a trip to Southern W.A on the West Coast for red eareds.
And a trip up Cape York for We mask,W/bellied crimsons, blueface parroties and blackthroats.Plenty to do yet, may take a while to do the rest.
