Hello,

I have a pair of Gouldian and have them for about three months they seems quite well and active but lately I've noticed that the male in the pair is making strange noises these noises are sort of clicking noises and it seems that at times he twitches his head like when they do to feed chicks.. I want to know if this is normal behavior or should I be alarmed?! I've just recorded few videos for you guys to see and check will upload them somewhere for you guys to see any advise in this regard will be much appreciated.

Hi Rashed what Tiaris said I would do the same treatment and the head problem could be the first stage that Gouldian finch get a twitches, I had Gouldian finch started likely and then it got worst, people say it a ear infection or I believe it in there nervous system of the brain it cause them to twitches, there is no cure for that just wait and see if it go away,I hope this will help you. If you have a video of it to see what it is doing ,would mind see it and then I can give you a answer what it could could be.

Cheer from Mr Tino

Rashed is in India . .

Only a computer click away but freight on an order from Gomer might add a bit to the cost

Air sac Mite.
Had a bird identical to that last year.
As above Moxidectin or Ivermectin.
I had better result with Ivermectin applied to the skin rather than Moxidectin via drinking water.
Don't know what products you have access to.
The product I use/used is ‘Avimec’ (Vetafarm) active ingredient being Ivermectin.
The export product being 'Scatt' which uses Moxidectin at the same rate.

Rashed you need to get hold of the pour on for sheep, the cattle one is too strong.I have never had the problem of airsac mite to my knowledge but i have used ivermectin for other things like worming.
I believe it's one drop to the bill or crop and two or three drops on the skin at the back of the neck but you have to do all your finches,if one's got it they all have.
Can you put your country under your avatar as it's confusing as lot of posts think you live here in Aus. Cheers Craig
