How to keep a healthy aviary?

I'm setting up my first aviary to house canaries and a few finches. Because it's going to be outdoor, I have to deal with ants, geckos, bugs in general, mite, lice and etc.
How can I keep my aviary free of this things? What sort of cleaning routine, products, habits should I have to keep my birds healthy?
PS: I haven't mentioned mice/rat as I had already read a lot about it.
