Leg rings are good for identification but sometimes they have their downfalls. In the pictures is a pastel hen Scarlett that found
hung up this morning,I realised that I hadn't seen her for a couple of days so went for a look and made the find.
Luckily the cock has been doing a good job as he has been feeding the young in the box.

Hi Jack, not trying to tell you your business but if i were you i would leave the dead hen in the cage so that the cock bird thinks she is still apart of the team, saw colored feathers do this with a pair of goulds earlier this year ,the cock bird continued to feed the young even after the hen had been dead for about 5 to 6 weeks, garyh

Hope the cock birds can keep up the pace. Always a bummer when that happens to a bird.

An Izabell Greenfich youngster of mine got stuck on a piece of wire thru the closed ring, It survived but unfortunately lost its leg. Only 1 that survived from a nest of 4.
Thems the breaks. SORRY for your loss Jack.
