I don't think that I could tell the difference either but I'd be hoping that it's the Gouldians nest as stars are usually quick to dessert a nest that's been interfered with. On the up side I have had stars successfully rear Gouldian chicks that came from the Gouldian laying in the Stars nest before the Star had a chance to but they reclaimed their nest. The absence of the feeding tubercles on a Star chick might be a turn-off for Goulds acting as a foster if the case is reversed.

would be hard to tell the difference unless you got a close look. Here is a chart with them on it.

As you can see the gouldian egg is quite thicker at one end,

Gomer is there any way that you could increase the size of that picture by about 25% or is it at the maximum allowable size for the forum as it is.
some great info there but a strain on my old eyes

is how I feel

Thank Greg for the Interesting topic wow who could of known star finches can foster or abandon eggs and the gouldians being foster parents that was a shocker

but abandon them is no surprise here and thank you Gomer for the chart I'm going to try to look at the differences for next time because I don't wan to disturb them
