On SUNDAY, 08FEB15, a group of like minded people decided to form a group of specialist finch and softbill keepers. To be known as the 'Mid North Coast Finch and Softbill Keepers' the group decided to make each home visit a informal event.

A simple idea of 'sharing of knowledge and helping others' these dedicated bird keepers will help form the nucleus of finch and softbill breeding 'paradise' that is the mid north coast of NSW. This small collective of people would like to increase the amount of people attending each visit. So if you missed the last one, the next is on Sunday, 08MAR15 @ 10 am. To be held in Port Macquarie at another members (Owen's) home.

If you or you know of someone who has a passion for finches and softbills and lives between Forster and Coffs Harbour. Why not 'car pool' together, travel to Port and make a whole day of bird talk plus do some shopping or arrange some aviaries to visit whilst in the area.

UPDATE

We have about 12 to 14 people attend each aviary visit. Our friendly small group of fincho's are always welcoming new people to come along and talk about finches and softbill's. A common response stated by all that attend these visits is "to visit other peoples aviaries has proven to be a refreshing break from what most clubs other do".

Don't think that you have to have a large aviary complex to join in on the fun. Most of us live on small blocks of land and have very simple aviaries to house our birds. All you need is to have a passion for birds and the aviaries will follow.

The next meeting is this Sunday 14JUN15 @ 10 am. at the home of Owen M. @ 22 Rosehill Ave, Port Macquarie.

PS: In JULY we are planning an aviary visit in the Forster/Tuncurry to Taree area.
