Well here goes...

Long story short, on the 19th of January, a elderly gentleman in Sydney had an ad. on Petlink advertising Zebra Finches for $7.50 each. He was given a few pairs 20 or so years ago, and they had bred in a colony ever since... The photo showed some black cheeks, so I just assumed he had used a pic from the net. Curiosity got the better of me and I rang the number... This was about 4 hours after he had placed the ad...

Turns out it was a pic of his birds and a "man from the Central Coast or Newcastle" drove down that morning and bought the lot!!!!

So, question is....

Does anyone know the lucky buyer???

Cheers,

Tim

I've saved a copy of the ad in my phone. I'm happy to text or email the pic to anyone, but because it has the sellers phone number on it, I don't think its right to post it on a forum.
PM me if you want to have a look ;-)

Thanks to Tim and Diane. Definate Black cheek in amongst that lot, though most seem to be white or silver.

Black cheeked Zebbies.....

I attended the National bird show and World show in Holland last month.
Took a few pics of Zebbies.
Sorry about the quality but I did not really go all that way to see Zebra finches. Prefer to see them in the wild.

Holland is zebra finch mad and they attract thousands of entries at there specialist show and nationals. They are the size of sparrows. Colour mutations we could only dream of.

cheers, case

I found the exact same pic on Google. If you type zebra finch in Google and select images, scroll down and you will see the picture. It is actually a still from a you tube clip.
So I would say 99.9% chance it is a scam.
