Just ordered or have on hold 5 pairs of Yellow St Helenas that I will be picking up in April. Not sure on what is around of these guys and I believe these ones mayb Fawns. None the less cannot wait to try them out now that I am using maggots.

There a quite a few around now. They breed really well. I generally average 4 per clutch and occasionally upto 6 on maggots. If I feed termites, mine will average six a clutch and have had a couple of clutches of 8. I find they terrible parents until their 2nd or 3rd clutch. Once they get going, they don't stop.

I still have 3 pairs. I've bred over 40 this season so far. Reds, yellows and yellow fawns. I've breed them for the last 5 years, this will probably be my last year with them. They are beautiful birds, it's just time to replace them with another species. The best thing about them is that you can tell their sex as soon as they fledge by colour under the tail and vent.

Picked up my pairs of Yellow Fawn Saints. What a magic looking bird. Also the owner gave me a pair of Yellow Grey Saints. Nice birds.

Was meant to take some when I put a pair in my Show Cage. Will do on the weekend.

Saints are one of very few waxbills which actually do quite well on mealies as livefood & eat them very efficiently if that makes things any easier.

And if you are cleaning out the daddy long legs spiders round the place, put them in the avairy and watch them go for them. Saints are the first birds at them every time.

Well after having these birds a long while ago. Had bought this lot. The Fawn pair I have had nothing. The Grey pair to my surprise went up to the aviaries this afternoon and 4 young were out. Pretty happy with that. Breeding some of this stuff is a good feeling after breeding Zebbies and Gouldians. Was surprised to see they actually fledge with the yellow stripe.
