odd behaviour

Has any one else got finches that do strange things??????
Ive noticed that part of my goldfinches morning routine consists of picking off any dried poos that they have deposited below them ( they roost in T tree).
They spend ages picking off dried poop and dropping it on the ground. True.
And my gouldians have a habit of flying to the perch closest to the front of the cage when I am watching them , turning their backs and then moving their heads from side to side as if to say * yeah thats right Im gawjus *.
Any one notice funny things their birds do????????

I sure do.

Juvie Gouldian
After I have cleaned out the cages each morning I sit and watch them while having a coffee and every morning without fail this particular bird tests the wire, sort of bumping its chest against the wire seeing there is an opening. Ive given it the name of Houdini cos I think it would be out in a flash if it could.

Guessing that's a survival mechanism by the goldfinches, removing the poo disguises their roosting position from predators.

good call matty boy they certainly are survivors just look how well they have done down south ...they are suppose to be feral in southern Victoria and S.A.
They will eat anything , sleep anywhere and are bomb proof lol. good little doers I reckon.
