Mealies only?

Ok,
I have bred goulds , stars, and painteds with minimal live food, meaning just about nothing, only when I bought mini mealies. So now I wish to look for another species. Diamonds look great, Orange Breast really do appeal. The question is this...... I am starting a mealworm farm so what birds can I look at using mealworms only. Maggots and termites are not an option. Sprouted/soaked seed plus greens (dandelion, milk thistle,) are given daily plus green seed harvested locally (winter grass etc.)

In other words , It is a bit of a clear out, have 10 gould chicks on the perch at the moment, three nests with chicks not fledged and two others on eggs. Have better than 10 each of stars and and painteds. I want to go back to one pair of stars and a couple of painteds. Even thinking of not having goulds. So what would you suggest?

Ken.

Parrotfinches (especially Red-faced or Blue-faced), Saint Helenas, Cutthroats, & Cubans should do fine on mealies + your other stuff.

My Blue Faced parrot finches, plumheads, painted firetails and Africans have all bred with only mealies.
