Did anyone go to the Ararat bird sale today?
Wondering how it went with the recent problems we are having in Victoria.

Very disappointing . Drove for 3.5 hours and only needed less than 10 minutes at the sale to see only a handful of sellers with finches, and only a handful of finch types on sale. There were Zebras, normal Gouldians, red Stars, Double-bars, Painted Finches, and, to be a little different, one regular seller had Blue-faced Parrotfinches. I was hoping that lack of foreign birds, not any there at all, could mean more Aussie Finches would be available, but not so. Now truly looking forward to the Riverland Bird Sale in South Australia next weekend.

What a shame. People should make a point of bringing as many exotics as they can along to these sales.
Just an aside, but there is no way the Blue-faced Parrot Finches we have in our aviaries originate from native stock.
