I would like to see some more pics, as from that one it is hard to tell if he has white feathers or if it is just the light, he may be a pure SF with an unusual amount of purple under his chin. This could be the start of a new mutation.

I had these bird in my early day and these some of type of Gouldian finch I find when you cross by accident with Australian yellow that what you get at end result,it not a good pairing, when you go to sale them as pure or not you won't tell the different between under till you try them I hope this will help you and finch breeder this is not a new mutation at all.
By way where in this picture it is not showing a purple bib at all I can see grey in it chin because I cause see it.

Must be my eyes playing me with the "purple" under the chin, or maybe the angle caught me out.
Further photos of the wing and chin area as well.
