I have been keeping a journal on these guys so I can have a resource for the future. Much of what i have learnt about these guys has been by word of mouth and there is little to nothing online.

To those who have bred these guys I hope the picture below looks familiar and promising.

I put cotton in as nesting material which is what I do for all my cup nesters.

These guys have placed some in the nest box and some in another patch of brush. I have one trio and one solo pair that haven't done anything yet.

They are an odd bird to keep and very picky with food, greens and they told like me around. Since I out in a heap of brush they have calmed.

Just looked them up on Google. Not much about them but they do look interesting, cup nesters aren't my go, but in saying that if I went that way they might come into the equation.

The nest is increasing in size so it looks like game on.

I don't know much about them, but I'd like to try them in the future, as cup nesters are my preferred. I will follow your post and try to learn something.

We have some birds in common, as I am trying to breed red and yellow siskin this year. So far, all quiet with them.

Hope fully will get a photo but one pair completed the nest the other day. All going to plan i should hopefully report eggs this sunday.

Im pretty happy with them.

The males colour up nicely when in season.

May be able to mix our young if the rest of the season goes as good as it has started.
