aphids as a food source?

just wondering if aphids are actually palatable to our finches.
I have emu bushes in my aviary, flowering at the moment, and one in particular is covered in aphids.
this aviary has jacarinis, yellorumps, redbrows etc that should enjoy them?
maybe there are just more aphids than they need?
I have not noticed any "feeding" in the vicinity of the infested bush.
an adjoining aviary that houses ruddies and stars also has emu bushes but no sign of aphids on them so they seem to keep them down.

can any experienced(old!) birdo's confirm or otherwise?

I give my birds thistle and quite a few stems have aphids on them which RC Cordons, Strawberry and the Parrot finches go up and down the stem eating them so if they were on tap you may not see them doing that

My yellow siskins wait for me to put them in. I get thistle loaded with them and out them in. The goldfinches love them also.

I think they are a great source of live food.

I feed them and the thistles, and find the Ruddies, Cubans and Double Bars all seem interested.
