It was pointed out to me that the head colour of a AD could also be effecting the back colour.
What I have noticed among my birds is that any black head birds all have that soft creamy back colour compared to Red heads that have a back colour that closely resembles a single factor cock with the tell sign that it's a AD being directly in the bib.

Is there anyone here that breeds the AD's with a red/yellow head that maintains that creamy back colour or is the head colour controlling the back colour?

Rich.
