Despite providing no nesting material or boxes, my pair of Zebras are sitting on eggs laid on the aviary floor. I have a young grandson that would love to see them hatch, otherwise I would just remove the eggs.
It is just about impossible to catch birds in my smallish aviary. If I remove the young prior to fledgling stage, will they survive in their own cage without the parents?
If so, at what age could I remove them?

Hi Leonie, they would need at least 21 days after fledging before you could move them. Make sure they can feed themselves and feed the same diet as the parents. Craig

A couple of years I had a pair nest on the floor of a 7x3 foot aviary with about 15 Canary's they hatched and reared 4 young and were very territorial .
