Melbourne Sale

I attented the Melbourne Bird Sale of the Australian Avicultural Society. What a SHAME that we have allowed our hobby to be denegrated
to such an extent. Ater a change of venue from Latrobe University to the Dole Reserve in West Keon Park, It was understandable that the
Sale would suffer some in the attendance of the General Public, BUT, it was the FACT that we as bird people have allowed a FEW MISGUIDED
INDIVIDUALS and the BIRD TRADERS to wreck our hobby is what kept most Birdies away.
We MUST take hold of the situation and DO a lot more to protect our hobby.
For starters I suggest that BIrd Clubs Do more to convince the Government that all our birds are Australian Born and as such do not fall under their
their OUTDATED REGULATIONS. Why is it OK for Clubs all over Australia to sell all type of birds, but we have restrictions in Victoria.
Is it because we are Victoria by name and Victorian by nature.
If Government cannot be made to see sense I SUGGEST THAT BIRD PEOPLE START A CIVIL DISOBEDIANCE CAMPAIGN TO PROTECT OUR HOBBY.
