Can anyone tell me the differences or post some links of a comparison please.

Basically moxidectin has a better safety margin for birds and is prefered over Ivermectin. I am unsure if ivermectin is used in water by members who do use it or just placed on the skin. moxidectin plus has the plus component praziquantel for tape worm etc.. moxidectin in itself and I believe ivermectin is not as effective in treating tape worm. Although there are some members who do not use moxiplus but prefer just moxi.

It says ivomec does treat tapeworms. Normal moxy treats encysted small strongyles and bot fly. It's saying moxi has less of a safety margin??
I've used ivomec for mites in drinking water and it worked brilliantly.

A sticky of these comparisons may be a good idea.

For birds moxi is far superior.
Ivomec is less soluble & comes in several different strengths which both pose risks in trying to ensure the correct dose (especially with very small birds such as finches).
Neither treat tapeworm but moxidectin PLUS does as it also contains praziquantal.

They reckon moxi absorbs and stays/stores in fat for longer too which makes it a winner too I would think.

If your reading about horses maybe ivomec is better for horses. But all the stuff I have read contradicts that for birds. Moxi is safer for birds.
Scatt (Wormer, airsac mite treatment) from overseas used to be ivomec but they have changed to moxidectin for birds.
