Shell grit from the beach

Should it be rinsed thoroughly and would this remove any salt? Should a constant supply be provided for finches?

I've never bothered to wash the stuff, but I'm interested to see what others think.

If its a clean beach just dry it out & should be fine.

Agree with Tiaris. I have block salt in the aviary and they dont miss it! As long as the beach is clean it should be ok. They are smarter than you think, any smell from fuel etc, etc they won't touch it.
