Hi all,
any way one can slow down the growth of maggots so it doesn't become flies, aside from keeping it in the fridge? Cheers.

Can you turn your breeding box into a "Kalgoolie Cooler"? Hang waterbag of coldest water and put fan to blow this into breeding box. Should cool and slow them. Would work best the more often you can replace warmed water with cooled water.

These were common when I was a kid in the '40's & early '50's
Usually hung in a window way or verandah or even under a shady tree, and used to keep milk, butter, meat etc cool . . using the same principle as the old 'water-bag' . . can you still buy them
OMG . . Kids these days with their 'dit-dit machines' wouldn't believe it
And I just remembered that 'flying-gangs' who worked on the railways and often had to use tents as accommodation during the week were issued sheetmetal meatsafes . . as above . . up until at least 1990 when one (that fell of a truck) was given to me

Well the 2 places are fairly close to each other.
Somebody has to go round making mistakes for others to pick up.
Vaguely recall one (think it was in the shearers quarters store) at Great Aunts farm when I was in primary school.
Yes that was a few years back.
