Hi all I've just joined - though I have been arround birds all my life
I'm located in the midwest of Western Australia - so the only local bird club is a social one not a show one - am into finches both Aussie and other and quail - noticed some people dont like keeping them together but I always have and find that if a fledgling finch accidently spends a night on the ground my quail will frequently take it under the wing and keep it warm for the night

G'day and welcome.
I too love having quail roam around my cage floor.
I find that quail add alot of interest in a single mixed cage.
Which type do you keep. I have only king at the moment.
Have had little button quail before.

Cheers

Only keep king quail. And I plead guilty to being into mutations. So the main aviary has a pair of Cinnamons and the other 2 aviarys have cinnamon to silver. But as I had a pied hen (50& white 50% cinnamon many years ago I line breed to try and get that elusive gene out) Have in the last year finally produced something just a little different by doing this. He is Cinnamon but I think he might be dilute. (Never having seen a dilute quail before this is a guess) The chest chestnut is lighter and more extensive than usual and the gray is lighter and less extensive. What do you think?
I know you are going to ask for a photo but you will have to wait till my daughter gets home from uni in a couple of weeks and I twist her arm to take me some pics. Sorry as my kids say I am a technicological lamma.
