After the first round of breeding do you empty the nest and all the nesting material and place a clean new nest?

Obviously I am new to this so bear with me if its a silly question :purplex: :nosey:

You are most likely a cabinet breeder and in that case you can change the nesting material before they go again. In an aviary situation once the young leave the nest the cock and hen reline the old nest very quickly and go again. While the cock feeds the young she incubates the new eggs. Craig

I remove nesting material if it is grotty, but leave if reasonable. This varys with individual pairs, size of clutch and types of finches.

Most websites say to remove the nest and replace it with a new one, but don't if the nest is quite clean as this will save you a lot of money.

Or in some situations you can use cardboard boxs and replace them as needed for no cost.
