This is indeed a great loss. I had a couple of lovely conversations with Russell over the weekend in which I thanked him for his wonderful contribution via his articles, books, conservation efforts, and discoveries about our wonderful birds. So pleased I could do that in person.
He will be sadly missed and condolences to lovely Indra and family. Wonderful person!

Having been a personal friend of Russell's for over 40 years it is a great loss.
Our avicultural journey was paralleled in so many areas.
Sunday night he even repeated the saying he made several years ago, we were at a restaurant when
he lent across the table and said. " you know all the old f..ts we used to talk about, guess what that's us know".
I hope Indra can stay strong as it is a huge loss for her.
On a selfish note a great loss to us all.
R.I.P. Russell Kingston.
