Recently I seen a photo of a Blue Faced Parrot Finch taken at Mt Lewis (?) near Townsville. It was a brilliant coloured bird and much better than the ones I had a few years back. I've read on this forum that most of the BFP Finches in Australia originated from New Guinea. Just wondering if there are bird keepers in Australia that are breeding the Australian BFP? No need to name names, I'm just interested if they exist or whether they are "extinct"in captivity.

The photo you seen was most likely taken at mount Lewis Julatten. It is west of Port Douglas or North of Cairns. I was there last year with Case but we unfortunately did not sight them only heard a cock bird, as when we were there they were on the flats. I am unaware of Australian Parrot finches.
