Howdy everyone, i require your experience to help me identify my juvenile gouldians. I had originally presumed all the young would follow the cock bird and be euro yellow split to blue.... now the young have left the nest i see quite a variation in color, im sure there are people out there who can tell me how these young will color up. The hen is the blue and the cock bird the yellow. Thankyou ahead of time for your help!

At a guess 1 and 3 will be visually like dad but female and 2 and 4 will be visually normal but split blue and probably male. Others may be more accurate than me.

Due to the male being Double factor Euro yellow back all young will be SF yellow backs and split to blue. 1 and 3 are SF hens and 2 and 4 are SF cocks.

Most will be blue from blue to split. Only from blue to blue will you get all blue.

Not that anyone is saying to breed Blue to Blue . The Blue mutation has a reputation for being a weak mutation. Thats why in old post
on this forum its better the bread Blue to split to blue . All birds produced will still carry the blue gene , some will just show it.

cheers
