The ones in my mothers backyard are not even a metre high, and have red seedheads, her budgies show minor interest. Obviously you have the big brother of the family.

Yes as Tiaris said there are many different varieties and colours in the leaves and seeds. They are sold as an ornamental plant in nurseries mainly for the colours of the plant,coral plant is another name for them.
