I've tried 2 hens to a cock in planted aviaries 7m x 2.5m and haven't had any success. The hens always seemed to fight. I've always had success as single pairs per aviary. I also tried singers as a trio and experienced lousy results. I've heard people successfully breeding red siskins as a flock with more hens though. Just my experience for what its worth.
