Recently a friend purchased a pair of Star Finches. The cock bird is lighter than the usual colour. The genetics of the bird are unknown, other than to say it originated from normal looking birds. Is this finch a Fawn?

Looks like a fawn male to me - nice bird too. Autosomal recessive.
