Breeding Cockatail's

Hello.

Does anybody know about Cockatiel's i know this is a finch forum but i have a
pair and the pet store said they could take up to six years to have there first
clutch?????

6 years??? I doubt it. How old are your birds? They should be ready in their second year. Are you sure you have a male/female pair? Can you post some pics?

im super sure plus my camera broke two days
ago so im gonna get a new one soon. but yeah
im pretty sure they are male and female they go
in and out there nest box and they mate quite alot
she has egggs but they never hatch???????????

Are you lining their nest box with wood shavings or something similar? You want something in there that will retain heat.

They can be bred anywhere on from a year old, they are still a bit immature before then.

They are ready to breed from about a year on . Sawdust and a good deep nest box with a perch inside for climbing in and out is all I have.
If they are mating and laying eggs then theres something going on stopping the eggs from hatching , an infertility issue.
Do they lose interest in the eggs and let them get cold?
Hope someone can help you , they usually are very good parents and the male will even bully the female to stay on the eggs if shes not doing her bit .

Oh !!! now thats not good , hopefully someone with more expertise will help with this one . If I had to guess I would say a calcium issue but who knows Quarrions can be just plain naughty ...Good luck.
